Priyanka Chopra On Starring In Keanu Reeves’ ‘The Matrix: Resurrections’, Says “Would Have Done Any Part”

Priyanka Chopra is going places as we speak! The Bollywood-turned-Hollywood actress who was last seen in The White Tiger will soon be seen in a bunch of exciting projects. Including Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne Moss’s sci-fi saga, Matrix 4. Scratch that; It’s now officially called The Matrix: Resurrections and boy, does it have fans excited. Earlier, the first teaser trailer was debuted at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas and if insider talks are anything to go by, we are in for a wild ride.

Obviously, it isn’t out for the general public yet but according to a Deadline report, “the trailer begins with Neil Patrick Harris talking to Keanu Reeves’ Neo. A near-future San Francisco. It appears that Neo is trapped in a humdrum world, much like his first self in the 1999 movie. “Am I crazy?” asks Reeves’ Neo. “We don’t use that word in here,” says Harris’ therapist. Reeves comes in contact with Carrie Anne Moss’ Trinity in a cafe: “Have we met?” she asks Neo.” Yes, apparently, they don’t remember each other. Now, it might sound like the same drill because it is and that is when all the mind-blowing action sequences with slick and stylish action choreography follow. It is also being said that there is a lot of slo-mo acrobatics that the franchise is known and loved for! Although there aren’t many details about Chopra’s role or part, the fact that Keanu Reeves had revealed that the upcoming film is an “inspiring love story”, has left everyone speculating if the actress is part of the same track.

But guess we don’t need to anymore because the Desi Girl has finally opened up doing the film which has been written and helmed by series co-creator Lana Wachowski. In a recent interview with Vogue India, PeeCee revealed how she’d have even done a walk-on role Wachowski, implying that her character isn’t (?). She even reveals her fangirl moment while filming and honestly, we don’t blame her.

Talking about how she was scared about filming after a long break and even cried during the ride over, she said, “I would have done any part Lana Wachowski would have given me. I’d be happy to do a walk-on. It was amazing just being there. I used to arrive on set sometimes when Carrie-Anne Moss or Neil Patrick Harris were filming and I’d sort of peek in and have a fangirl moment.”

If you’re not in the know, Reeves and Moss are all set to reprise their roles with the returning franchise cast members like Jada Pinkett-Smith, Daniel Bernhardt, and Lambert Wilson, Matrix 4 will also see new entries to the matrix-verse like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who can be seen fighting with Reeves. If you’re not in the know, Abdul-Mateen II and Harris are also joined by other series newcomers like Christina Ricci, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, and our very own Priyanka Chopra. Meanwhile, Laurence Fishburne has stated that he won’t return as Morpheus.

The Matrix: Resurrections will premiere on December 22 in theatres along with an HBO Max (for 31 days) release.
